How does it work?

Whole body cryotherapy is a 2:30 to 3:00 minute exposure to extreme cold. The extreme temperature rapidly cools your skin about 30 degrees causing your brain to think it is going into hypothermia. (Don't worry your actual core body temperature doesn't change it's just your skin temperature)

The body immediately reacts to your rapidly cooling skin with an increased heart rate and deeper breathing. This is your body believing it’s going into a natural fight or flight response, and it’s a completely normal process. In order to protect your internal organs, your blood vessels constrict and redirect the blood from your extremities to your core. The blood then becomes infused with anti-inflammatory proteins and oxygen and your metabolic rate is also increased. During the session your body also releases Norepinephrine, Endorphins and Adrenaline giving you increased energy.

What can I expect?

The first 30 to 45 seconds will feel cold. After that you will feel a little numb and can relax while talking to the technician. You will be done a lot faster than you think! Unlike an Ice bath, there is no reheating process needed, as we use Dry Nitrogen instead of water. This means you will be ready to go and warmed up before you leave! After treatment, your capillaries expand delivering super-oxygenated blood throughout the body. This greatly increases the speed of recovery. Users sometimes feel this as a tingling sensation and the effects can last six to eight hours.

What do I wear?

Men must wear Underwear. Woman do not have this restriction, but can wear Underwear and a Sports Bra as long as there is no Metal or Plastic touching the skin. We provide you with a Robe, Socks, Mittens, and our very fashionable Slippers!

Once a week or five times a week, whole body cryotherapy has been shown to provide relief from a whole host of issues.
